Ahoy me hearties

This week, as part of our author study on Julia Donaldson, we are reading her book The Troll. In the story there is a pirate ship with funny pirates on it. Today to hook us into writing our teacher got us to make pirate ships like the one in the book.

We had to work together with a buddy to follow the instructions and put it all together.

Tomorrow we will make a sail for our ship and then we are going to write a recount.
To write a good recount we have to write our ideas in order and include how we felt when we were making the pirate ship. We also need to include who, what, when, where and why.

Today we led the Kakano assembly. We got to sing one of our favourite songs called 'Kaha the Kea'. It's about a cheeky Kea who takes things. We sang this song because we drew and painted Kea for our art attack. Soon we will put photos of these paintings on this blog but if you want to see them before that you should come and visit our classroom.
