Today in discovery our teacher did the volcano experiment in her science lab room. It was amazing.

Check out what we have been doing in maths to learn bigger numbers and  learn the before and after numbers.

We have been using letters to make words in reading and writing.

Writing By Ella

We have been learning to write good recounts.
We know we have achieved this when:
- our ideas are in order
- our sentences make sense
- we say what we thought or felt

Our science experiment

Bubble bubble pop! Today I did a science experiment. We put a teaspoon of baking soda in a small cup and we put two drops of blue food colouring into the cup and put 20 mls of vinegar in the cup. It exploded! The colour was sky blue  it was extraordinary. Karlies turn had more vinegar and less baking soda and we put more and more vinegar in and it went again and again and it was interesting.

Well Done Emma

Emma took part in two dance competitions in the holidays.  One was in Motueka on Easter weekend  where she got several certificates from Commended up to Very Highly Commended and got a trophy for “Nicest Attitude back stage under 10”.

The second competition was just on the past weekend in Christchurch where she got several Highly commended and Very Highly Commended awards, 2 Bronze awards and finished up with Silver for her Jazz yesterday.

Well done Emma! We are all very proud of your hard work and can see you have been showing the CARE value of Excellence outside of Oaklands.
